31.07.07 A credit card gives comfort and safety during a holiday abroad
In the opinion of the head of the department of retail business of VAB Bank, Anton Shaperenkov, the best combination in the management of ones money on a holiday trip abroad is a credit card and a limited amount in cash.
«A credit card is very comfortable to use and also guarantees a high degree of security. It also allows, if necessary, to have it filled up during the trip from Ukraine by relatives or acquaintances. Small amounts in US Dollars or Euro can come in handy for small payments, such as for taxis’, souvenir purchases, tips. For the planning of the payments abroad, I would recommend tourists to obtain credit cards in US Dollars or Euros) or multicurrency credit cards. Visa Classic and Master Card Standard are such cards.
Furthermore the higher the level of the card, the higher the status of its owner in the shops. For example a platinum card gives the possibility to benefit of discounts in hotels, air-ports etc.», — Anton Shaperenkov explains.
As we already mentioned, the summer season has led to an increase in the demand on credit cards. Since the beginning of the summer VAB Bank has issued more than 12 500 cards, of which 1 480 are with a credit facility. It is a threefold rise compared to the winter period.
